The main theme of this book is a journey through motherhood from start to finish. The author held my attention from one phase to the next. I was eager to see what the following events were. Definitely an attention getter. This is an easy read book and as I read, I wanted to keep reading. This is an eye opener for young mothers to pray when choosing a doctor and let the Lord give you peace with them. I would recommend this book for anyone getting ready to start a family.

Mrs. Marquita D.W. Ezell is by definition a woman of faith. In spite of not being a mother, I commiserate with the author as she shared her multiple painful experiences during her pregnancy with her audience. Marquita opened part of her life when she described “The Bright Breakthrough of Mother” as a mixture of my real raw experience of going into pre-term labor and spiritual wisdom that I gained from God…” Her eloquent writing of her personal narrative caused me to reflect on events that occurred in my own life. Mrs. Ezell was led to deal with her traumatic and distressful experience during her first pregnancy within the spiritual realm, as well as the physical realm. As I read ehr inspiring book, Marquita did not directly speak on her faith in God. I was guided through reading her book that she did not let go of her faith when transpiring events did not go in her favor. I admire Mrs. Ezell for sharing her personal story with her readers. Each event was interwoven with her faith. Mrs. Ezell’s overall harrowing experience will lead her readers to question and increase their own faith in God, the Lord and Savior. She was victorious in her circumstance no matter what was destined to happen.
For her debut, the author chose to share what is likely the most traumatic, most personal, and biggest life-changing event of her life. Though short, I read the story in one sitting; not because of its length but because of the interest in events. Although I know how the story ends, I still found myself holding my breath while reading.
The author addressed a critical discussion of how women of color are historically and routinely disregarded by healthcare professionals. She also shared how this moment in her life impacted her spiritual growth. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author!
